Wanda Lee Blake

Wanda Lee Blake, 87, of Marion died Sunday, January 23, 2022 at St. Luke’s Hospital following a brief illness.  Services: 1 p.m., Friday, January 28, 2022 at Teahen Funeral Home in Cedar Rapids. Friends may visit with the family on Thursday, January 27, 2022 from 3 to 5:30 p.m., and after 12 p.m. on Friday before the service. Due to concerns over the novel coronavirus, it is suggested that family members and friends wear a mask to any funeral event.

Lawrence Gene Mossman

Lawrence Gene Mossman, age 71, passed at his home in Blairstown, Iowa on January 25, 2022, with his wife Sandra Sue Mossman by his side.The EMS and Marengo Police Department gentlemen came with Sandra's call for their help.  They tried several minutes to revive Lawrence but were unable to do so.  Their help and being there was so much appreciated by Sandra and her family, knowing that they tried so hard to revive him.

Barb Holtz

Barb Holtz, 88 of Cedar Rapids passed away Monday, January 24, 2022. Private family services will be held at St. Jude Catholic Church by Rev. Mark Murphy with burial at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Teahen Funeral Home is assisting Barb’s family.Barb was born August 13, 1933 to William and Fanny Broxey and grew up in the Palo area. She married Gerald Holtz on October 16, 1954.

John Robert Yock

John Robert Yock, 75, of Shellsburg died Tuesday, January 25, 2022 at Heritage Specialty Care. Service: 11 a.m., Monday at Teahen Funeral Home, located at 3100 F Ave. NW.,Cedar Rapids by Penny Ackerman. Burial: Dayton Valley Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 10 to 11 a.m., at the funeral home. Dr. James K. Sheronick

Dr. James K. Sheronick, 71, formerly of Van Horne and Iowa City, passed away Friday, Jan. 21, 2022, surrounded by family. A private family graveside service will be held at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.James was born Sept. 20, 1950, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the son of Sine and Mariam (Chehedi) Sheronick. James was a dentist in Benton County, serving his community for almost 40 years.

Gertrude “Gertie” (Svovoda) Boddicker

Gertrude “Gertie” (Svovoda) Boddicker, age 96, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 22, 2022, at Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, January 26, 2022 at St. John’s Catholic Church in Blairstown, with Rev. Craig Steimel as Celebrant. Interment will be held in the spring at St.

Derek Dean Anderson

Derek Dean Anderson, age 43, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, went home to be with the Lord Jesus in heaven on January 20, 2022. While we deeply mourn the unexpected loss of such a beloved grandson, son, brother, uncle, and friend; we also rejoice in the absolute assurance of a future blessed reunion, which is promised to all who, like Derek, have trusted in the sacrifice of Jesus for the forgiveness of sins and eternal life (John 3:16; 6:35-40; 14:1-6; Ephesians 2:8-9).

Nadine Jean Weed

Nadine Jean Weed, 93, of Louisville, Ky., formerly of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away on Dec. 27, 2021, at her home. A visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2022, at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow the visitation and begin at 11 a.m. that will honor the life of Nadine and her son Brian Weed, who passed away in 2016.

Morris "Butch" W. Dodd, Jr.

Morris "Butch" W. Dodd, Jr., 73, of Garrison, formerly of La Porte City, died Thursday, January 20, 2022, at MercyOne Waterloo Medical Center. He was born July 31, 1948, in Raymondville, TX, the son of Morris Woodman and Elizabeth Land Dodd, Sr. He was a 1967 graduate of Lyford High School. On June 14, 1969, he married Penny Appleton in La Porte City.

Jeffrey Allen Blank

Jeffrey Allen Blank of Cedar Falls, Iowa passed away at home January 11, 2022 of cancer. Jeffrey was born in Watertown, Wisconsin on April 12, 1955 to Lorraine and Wilbert Blank. Jeff grew up on a dairy farm outside of Ixonia, Wisconsin. Jeff is survived by his sister, Barbara (Rob) Parkhurst of Cedar Park, Texas ; twin brothers Dan (Carla) Blank of Chatham, Illinois, and Dave (Kay) Blank of Ixonia, Wisconsin and many nieces and nephews, all of whom were precious to Jeff.
