We drove a few miles north of Vinton on Saturday, June 5th to the small town of Mt. Auburn to attend their Flag Celebration. 

This celebration, organized by our State Representative Dawn Pettengill, was attended by approximately sixty people.  The program included many patriotic songs and readings. 

The highlight of the day for me was the flag folding demonstration by the VFW and the speech by Representative Lance Horbach.  Others participating in the program were Jeremy McBride, Wendy Dunkelberger, Don Roepke, Arthur Underwood, Michael Lerch, Lisa Clark, Chad Newton, Dawn Pettengill and the illustrious Mount Auburn Youth Council to make it a fantastic patriotic program. 

This was the 10 year anniversary for this Celebration and I hope it continues for many more years.  It was well worth our 45 minute drive to attend.
