Name: Kinsey Kistler

 

Hometown: Columbus, Ohio

 

Kinsey is serving as a member of the NCCC FEMA Corps team Hickory 6 at the Vinton Campus. She chose to participate in AmeriCorps NCCC FEMA Corps because she has always been passionate about working towards the greater good and she believes that this program will be a perfect place for her to start.

 

Kinsey graduated from Dublin Coffman High School in June 2012. After her service term ends she plans to pursue a bachelor’s degree in English and history with a minor in creative writing. One day she hopes to get a teaching certificate and a master’s degree in education.

 

During high school Kinsey participated in a program called Mosaic that provided students with hands-on learning experiences within the community. She believes that this program has helped shape the person she is today and she feels that this experience is what gave her the confidence to join the NCCC FEMA Corps program.
