News : Farmers Bank, employees donated $500 to food pantry; Open House Friday

Food Pantry co-directors Linda Wood and Sherry Crawford received donations from FSB Thursday.

The annual Christmas tradition of an Open House and donations to area causes continues this week at Farmers Bank.

Santa will be on hand at 3:30 p.m. on Friday, during the Open House that lasts all day. Customers can enter there names in a drawing for VU Dollars, as well as sign up for a donation of $2 to their church. Refreshments will be served throughout the day.

On Thursday, FSB President Darlys Hulme, joined by the entire staff, presented $300 to Food Pantry co-directors Sherry Crawford and Linda Wood. The employees also donated another $200 to the pantry. Crawford said donations have been very good this holiday season. More families have requested help from the pantry this year, and the pantry is also more actively trying to help needy seniors, who are reluctant to seek assistance.
