The Vinton-Shellsburg High School Band Department recently had students selected for participation in the 2012 WAMAC Conference Honor Band. The event took place on Tuesday, November 13 at Marion High School.  Students selected for the 9-10 Band were:  Kristin Halstead (flute), Lexi Hicok (oboe), John Eden (bassoon), Kendra Peterson (Clarinet), LaQuieta Mull (Clarinet), Hannah Hoepner (Bass Clarinet), Keenan Brown (Alto Sax), Daniel Janssen (Baritone Saxophone), Zach Uthoff (Trumpet), Muriel Glynn (Trumpet), Abby Scheel (Trumpet), Jonah Blix (Trombone), Caleb Bendull (Tuba), and Katie Langstraat (Percussion).   

Students selected for the 11-12 Band were:  Carley Deklotz (flute), Emma Lippmann (Oboe), Kayla Peterson (Clarinet), Ashley McKenna (Clarinet), Claire Andreesen (Alto Sax), Sara Jorgensen (Alto Sax), Nick Gardner (Tenor Sax), Alyssa Cantrell (Baritone Saxophone), Kyra Blix (French Horn), Megan Ternus (Trumpet), Katie Paustian (Trumpet), Jacob Bunge (Trumpet), Stephanie Berry (Trombone), Matt Uthoff (Trombone), Lucas Murray (Percussion), and Jacob Isbell (Percussion).
