The Virginia Gay Hospital Health Care Foundation is in the middle of its annual fundraising campaign. Thanks to the generosity and compassion of people like you, we have been able to provide over $800,000 to our hospital and clinics to support health care in our area since the Tree of Lights began 20 years ago. Thank you very much to those of you who have expressed your concern for others by giving to support the VGH Tradition of Healing.

Because of these gifts we are now able to provide health care to all of Benton County and the surrounding area. Our health care network includes Virginia Gay Hospital and its state-of-the-art facilities and services, our Nursing and Rehab unit, Home Health, physical, occupational and speech therapy, and clinics in Vinton, Van Horne, Urbana, and Atkins.

The recent Tree Walk was very successful, and the Foundation would like to sincerely thank everyone who helped by donating a tree or wreath or by bidding on one, a special thank you to Edward Jones for sponsoring the Tree Walk and the Respiratory Therapy Department for coming up with the idea. This was the third annual Tree Walk and it will be a part of the VGH Christmas tradition for many years to come. The trees and wreaths were beautiful, and really added a touch of class to our lobby for several weeks. The total amount raised for the Tree of Lights from the Tree Walk was just over $5000.

With your help we will continue to be the major health care provider in our region. Your gift will be recognized, if you choose to, in the local newspaper and on the Foundation website as well as on our new donor board on display in the hospital lobby. The Tree of Lights fundraiser will continue through December, but we welcome your gifts whenever you choose to give. Again, thank you and have a Merry Christmas!
