This week, the Vinton-Shellsburg High School Vike of the Week is Aaron Burkey.

Aaron was nominated by Ms. Diedrichsen, who shared this story of what Aaron did:

This week I had a student in my class who lost 20 dollars out of her pocket on her way in to school. She was in my class second hour and was talking about her bad day and her 20 dollars. I said to her that I was sorry that she had lost 20 dollars. Right then Aaron Burkey happened to be walking by my class and heard me say that. He walked into my room and said, "Did somebody lose 20 dollars?" He reached into his pocket and pulled out 20 dollars that he found on the sidewalk out front and gave it to the student who lost it.! How cool is that. His intention was to find the person who lost the twenty because he knows how bad it feels to lose money. Everybody's day just got a lot better. It turns out good deeds make everyone around feel better-not just the people involved.
