News Area children learn polka is as familiar as some of their favorite songs

Area children heard some of their favorite songs on Friday in a style they do not often listen to: Pollka

Uncle Mike Schneider from Wisconson brought his "Pint-Size Polka" show to Vinton, where he taught the kids that many of their favorite songs, including "The Chicken Dance," were once polka songs. He also played other familiar songs on his accordion and led the children in dancing to the music. 

The performance was part of the Summer Reading Program entertainement at the Vinton public library. Click HERE to see the remaining July events.
