Vinton-Shellsburg Eighth graders Grant Noren, Nick Hyland, Brian Stainbrook , and John Betterton came in 1st in state out of 169 participating teams in the Iowa Stock Market Game. ELP students in Mrs. Turner's middle school classes had the opportunity to invest $100,000 in the stock market in October through April. This game follows the real stock market. The boys who came in first made a 35% gain on their investment. Clay Follman and Jaden Johnson, 8th graders, came in 8th in state with a 26% gain. Brittney Grendler and Owen Sloop, 7th graders, came in 10th in state with 25% gain. 6th grader Alex Maynard was 12th in state with a 23% gain.
