Hundreds of area third graders will learn about farming today during the annual Benton County Extension 3rd Grade Ag Day.
The students saw cows, sheep, pigs, goats and horses up close -- many of them getting their first look at farm animals. Vinton-Shellsburg FFA members and Extension experts shared their knowledge about farm machinery and livestock.
Third grade students from all over Benton County, including the Vinton-Shellsburg, Benton Community and Belle Plaine school districts participate in this event.
