The Monsanto Fund is awarding 199 grants in 39 states through the America’s Farmers Grow Rural Education program.  Twenty-two of those grants will be for $25,000 each and the remaining 175 grants will be for $10,000 each. 

Vinton-Shellsburg School District has been nominated and is completing the application process.  However, the more farmers who nominate a school district the better.  Your nomination demonstrates community support andstrengthens the application.  So complete the nomination process by April 15, 2012.

You are eligible to nominate the Vinton Shellsburg if you farm or manage 250 acres or more of corn, soybeans, and/or cotton and are 21 years of age or older.  If you farm/manage 500 acres or more please consider having your spouse or other family member submit a nomination too.

 

There are two ways to nominate your school:

1.       Go to GrowRuralEducation.com and click on “make a nomination” at the bottom of the page.  Fill out the form online (takes 2-3 minutes) and click on the submit button by midnight April 15, 2012.

 

2.       Or call 1-877-267-3332 to request a nomination form.  Complete the form and return it by April 15, 2012 (postmark) to: America’s Farmers Grow Rural Education, 914 Spruce Street, St. Louis, MO  63102.
