Some of the students who attended the Math & Science Saturday at the Iowa Braille School campus had previously lived there as part of the residential progam for visually-impaired Iowa children.

But now that the residential program has ended, the students will spend just hours, instead of years, at the Vinton facility.

Now receiving educational services closer to home, the students will make rare trips to the IBSSS campus. Three times each year, there is a Math & Science Saturday. About 20 students learned a variety of lessons about math, measuring and reflexes. The science portion of the day included handling starfish and other creatures from the sea.
