A year ago, Matt Betterton and Scott Barron unveiled the floor plans for the new Betterton Chiropractic Center, at a Vinton Unlimited After 5 Event.

That event took place in December 2010, at the US Bank Community Room, because there is not enough room at the current office on A Avenue.

But Matt and Scott and Betterton staff are preparing to move into the new (and much larger) facility on West 13th Street (behind First Christian Church and across the street from the south entrance of Theisen's). Workers are applying the finishing touches to the building's interior.

Matt said the plan is to be in the new building by Monday.

"I can't wait," he said. "It's been a long time coming."

Scott gave Vinton Today a short tour on Thursday afternoon. The new building will have separate office and treatment rooms for both Scott and Matt, as well as massage therapy rooms for Lisa Ellingson and Nancy Obermueller, who will begin serving patients there on Dec. 13.

"We have windows here," adds Scott. "That's something we don't have at the old office."

There is no basement, but a reinforced concrete X-ray room will protect the staff and patients from heavy winds. That concrete withstood the test of the July 11 storm, adds Scott.

The rooms also have flat-screen television and even waterfalls. A larger waterfall with the new Betterton logo (featuring a "B" made with the shape of a human spine) adorns the wall behind the reception area. There is also an upstair storage area.

The new facility will also allow more room for the annual food drive, which takes place Dec. 16. During this event, the chiropractors offer a free adjustment to patients who bring in donation for the area food pantry.

C December 5, 2011, 12:21 pm I love the \"B\" waterfall! Where did they get it? Who ingraved it with their logo?
Editor\'s Note: Matt said they sorta came up with the idea themselves, and Tharp design helped bring it to life!
