Lori Arbuckle is one of the regulars at the Vinton Animal Shelter, where she volunteers several hours per day for several days. Arbuckle is also an associate at Sam's Club, where the company makes donations of cash in honor of employee volunteer efforts.

Arbuckle recruited 50 colleagues to donate a total of 250 hours of labor at the shelter and shelter-related events. In honor of that effort, the Sam's Club donated $5,000 to the Friends of the Shelter, Inc., which manages the shelter.

Sam's Club representatives recently visited the shelter, where they presented the check to Shelter Director Julie Havran, along with Arbuckle and volunteer Donita Casey. Kent Vogel, the general manager of the Cedar Rapid's Sam's Club, along with Membership Assistant Manager Brandon Baker, joined the shelter volunteers at the shelter for the check presentation. In addition to being a membership team leader for Sam's Lori Arbuckle is a volunteer and part-time office manager for FOTSI at the Vinton/Benton Co. Animal Shelter)
