The annual Vinton Parks and Rec Department Craft and Bake Sale took place Saturday at the Skate Center. Several vendors sold baked items and a variety of crafts, including many they had made with their own hands.

Celia Hartz, the mother of Tilford music teacher Connie Zenk, was there with the wreaths she has made. She sat listening to the Iowa/Michigan game on WMT while talking about her wreaths. Of course, she said, her favorite is the Iowa Hawkeye wreath.

Helen Patten of Central City makes fish from empty 2-liter pop bottles. Turtles, too. And doves. She had several of her colorful creations on display in the center of the skating rink.
