The students of Mrs. Mathis and Mrs. Barron participated in the wedding of Q and U Friday morning. An official ceremony, followed by cake and traditional wedding reception dances, took place in the two classrooms.

Aspen Ahrenholz wore the bridal gown, representing Q. Steven Wicktendahl was the groom, and carried the letter U. Several students served as bridesmaides and groomsmen. Ignatius Butera, the brother in law of teacher Rhonda Barron, served as the officiant.

The students enjoyed wedding cake and cupcakes, and participated in several wedding dances that normally take place at wedding receptions. The Macarena, Chicken Dance and YMCA were among the students' favorites.

The rest of the first graders will have another Q-U wedding ceremony later this month.
