Standing on the Palace stage, holding a guitar autographed by many of his favorite fellow musicians, Gary Morris asks the audience what they would like to hear.

He hears the names of many of this songs, along with the words, "Les Mis."

Morris, the country star who went to Broadway to play Jean Valjean in "Les Miserables," still has quite a fan following, more than 40 years after beginning his musical career.

He performed three shows in Iowa over the Labor Day weekend, singing to approximately 300 people, including more than 60, at the Palace on Sunday evening.

Morris had last performed in Iowa in November of 2010, when performed two concerts at the Palace.

Morris gave the audience what they requested, singing several songs from his many albums as well as some numbers from the Broadway musical.
