Kolten McLaughlin & Kinze Manson,

Center Point-Urbana FFA Co-Reporters,

On Sunday, April 26th, the Center Point-Urbana FFA chapter concluded its 2025-2026 school year with its annual banquet and awards ceremony to show the success of the chapter members throughout the year and install the 2026-2027 officer team. At their annual banquet, 9 members were awarded their “greenhand” degree, 16 members were awarded their “chapter” degree, and 4 members were awarded their State FFA degree for Iowa. Additionally, the chapter awarded 2 individuals the honorary chapter degree, Sam and Rachel Kratz.

This year was especially special because the four members who were awarded their state FFA degrees were the chapters first members to be awarded the degree. The members are Emersyn Matthiesen, Bella Edler, Hannah Walvatne, and Emmalee Kratz. Members were then recognized for their hard work and success in LDEs and CDEs with some members making it to state and were awarded as state champions.

Members that were recognized as an outstanding member were Nylz Snakenberg (freshman), Audrey Seiler (sophomore), Bella Edler (junior), and Hannah Walvatne (senior). Bella Edler also won overall outstanding member.

The chapter’s alumni and supporters then recognized two seniors who have shown true support and dedication to the FFA with $1,000 scholarships. The seniors were Emmalee Kratz and Hannah Walvatne.

Gina Edler and Kim Lewis then touched on the chapter's past year and recognized the many successes, such as the chapter's greenhouse being built and the success of the “Growing Forward” campaign.

The night was then ended with the retirement of senior officer and committee chair members and the installation  and retirement of the new officer team. The two seniors were Emmalee Kratz and Hannah Walvatne. These two members have been a part of the three year chapter since its first year and have both shown a genuine interest and desire in the FFA chapter.

Senior Officers who were retired were Vice-President Emmalee Kratz, Officers that were installed were President Bella Edler, Co-Vice Presidents Caleigh Lewis and Addyson Sweeney, Audrey Seiler Secretary,  Treasurer Evelynn Kratz, Co-Reporters Kolten McLaughlin and Kinze Manson, and Sentinel Emmersyn Matthiesen.
