The Center-Point Urbana FFA Chapter had a phenomenal turnout at the Iowa State FFA Convention this past week. With incredible participation in LDEs, CDEs, and the state choir, the chapter's presence was strong in Ames.

To begin, three events competed in LDEs and achieved high levels of success. The Conduct of Meeting team, consisting of Kolten McLaughlin, Brynne Hite, Tabitha Letts, Sophia Blackwell, Audrey Seiler, Emily Cue, and Kyla Russler, received a silver rating. The Chapter Program team, consisting of Bella Edler, Kinze Manson, and Hannah Walvatne, received a gold rating for the presentation. Audrey Seiler also took the chapter knowledge test and received a gold rating and secured a 1st place finish! Finally, Caleigh Lewis competed in Prepared Public Speaking and received a gold rating and a 1st place finish. She will advance and compete at the National Convention this October. Congratulations, Caleigh and all of these individuals! Their hard work and dedication have really paid off!

Outside of LDEs, the CPU FFA chapter expanded its range of participation, with members taking part in the Poultry Judging CDE. Bayla Walters, Emmalee Kratz, and Ashtyn Shonka received a bronze rating for their involvement. We also had four members partake in the State FFA Chorus. Members Brynne Hite, Hannah Walvatne, Kinze Manson, and Kolten McLaughlin showcased their musical talents and excitement to be involved in the FFA. For the first time ever, CPU FFA members walked across the stage to receive their Iowa degrees, the highest degree that can be bestowed by the state of Iowa. It was a monumental moment and we are so proud of these individuals who put so much time and effort into making this happen. Congratulations Bella Edler, Hannah Walvatne, Emersyn Matthiesen, and Emmalee Kratz!

The Center-Point Urbana FFA Chapter is proud of all the members who participated. Their dedication and resilience toward their work payed off and all achieved a great amount of success. Although the chapter is only three years old, already the members are proving that they have a great passion for agriculture. Congratulations to all CPU FFA members!
