News : Cub Scout Pack 47 wants to turn Vinton Red, White, and Blue!

Hello Vinton Community!

Cub Scout Pack 47 is holding their third annual flag fundraiser. We would love to have your support in honoring America and our veterans throughout Vinton's community.

There are so many things about America that are wonderful but oftentimes we can find ourselves losing sight of these reasons in the hustle and bustle of everyday life. It is important to recognize the opportunities we have, the traditions that shape our families, the people we interact with and exposure to places around the country. Cub Scout Pack 47 would like our community to join together in remembering the freedoms we have as Americans and how this came to be.

Cub Scout Pack 47 would love to show and spread patriotism as a community. We are holding our third annual "You've Been Flagged" fundraiser. For $80 per year the cub scouts will place and remove 21 American Flags in each yard for Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day and Veterans Day.

21- The 21 gun salute is one of the greatest honors in government and the military.

21- At The Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, The guard faces the Tomb for 21 seconds at each end of a 21 step walk. This is repeated until the Guard changes over.

As we remember the reasons why America is great, we will honor the number 21 by placing 21 flags in each yard.

Do you have someone or something you want to honor? It may be a Veteran, a family of a Veteran, or simply wanting to show your own patriotic spirit. You can order this to be placed in your yard, someone else's yard or just donate to the cause and we will find an appropriate yard to place them. This would make a great gift for someone who already has everything.
