The Iowa Pork Producers Association has appointed Hope Brecht, who grew up in Belle Plaine, as its new Consumer Outreach Director, reinforcing its focus on communication and consumer engagement.
Brecht will lead efforts to connect pork producers with the public, with an emphasis on youth programming and improving the consumer experience at the Iowa State Fair Pork Tent. She previously worked as a communications specialist with the Coalition to Support Iowa’s Farmers and is a graduate of Iowa State University.
Her background includes agricultural communications experience and early involvement in FFA, where she served as an Iowa state officer.
IPPA CEO Pat McGonegle said Brecht’s experience will help strengthen connections with both agricultural audiences and consumers unfamiliar with modern pork production.
Brecht said she looks forward to expanding outreach efforts, particularly with youth, and preparing for a busy summer at the Iowa State Fair. The Pork Tent remains a key setting for direct interaction between producers and consumers as the industry continues to prioritize transparency and public engagement.
