News : Urbana holds Candidate Forum

Urbana held a candidate forum with all of the candidates participating in a Q & A.

The candidates include two mayoral candidates and four council candidates (for two open seats). They are as follows.

Urbana Mayor: James Warnke, Bob Irelan

Urbana City Council: Randy Johnson, Carman Irelan, Corey Schroeder, Shane Light

One mayoral and once council candidate are a married couple which is legal in the state of Iowa, as both are elected positions.

Recently, the Urbana turned control of the city over to the Administrator who runs the meetings and agenda. This has caused some issues in the past.

The city also eliminated the Urbana Police Department which also caused uphevel in the city. The city is currently in litigation with the former police chief.
