On Thursday, September 5th, the Vinton-Shellsburg FFA Chapter hosted its annual Middle School Fire Up, giving 13 younger students the chance to learn more about agriculture, teamwork, and leadership. This event was designed to help introduce students to the values of FFA while encouraging them to grow as future leaders.

FFA officers planned and led a variety of hands-on leadership activities, each focusing on important skills such as communication, problem-solving, and working as a team. From icebreaker games to team-building challenges, students had the chance to step outside their comfort zones and try something new.

One highlight of the day came when sixth grader Aniyah Dohrmann shared that her big dream is to become an FFA officer someday! We love hearing future goals from our youngest members. Keep reaching high, Aniyah, FFA looks good on you already!

The event not only introduced the middle school members to the FFA organization, but also gave current chapter members the opportunity to practice their own leadership and mentoring skills. By the end of the day, students left with new friendships, stronger teamwork abilities, and excitement for future opportunities in FFA.

Vinton-Shellsburg FFA looks forward to continuing this tradition and helping inspire the next generation of leaders through agriculture.
