This week we were excited to welcome eight new teachers to the Vinton-Shellsburg Community School District. Over the past two days, they participated in training designed to help them get acquainted with our district, our students, and our community.
Their training included sessions on district policies and procedures, instructional resources, technology tools, and student support services. They also toured our facilities and had opportunities to connect with mentors and fellow educators.
We were fortunate to have our community partners join in the welcome. The Vinton Lions and Kiwanis Clubs hosted a joint luncheon to introduce the new teachers to community leaders and share more about our area. The following day, the Vinton-Shellsburg Education Association and the district provided a Subway lunch as part of the training.
We are truly excited about the talent, energy, and commitment this group brings to our team. Please see the attached photo of our eight new teachers as we begin the school year together.
