The Vinton-Shellsburg FFA Chapter wrapped up a successful spring plant sale after three busy weekends in the high school greenhouse. With strong support from the greenhouse management class, students grew and sold a wide range of flowers, vegetables, hanging baskets, succulents, and even handmade wooden planter boxes built by Ag students.
Two special events made this year's sale even more memorable. On Saturday, May 10th, families gathered for Family Day, enjoying fun activities and plant shopping together. Then on Sunday, May 11th, the greenhouse hosted a festive Mother's Day Bash, where shoppers picked out the perfect gift for the moms in their lives while enjoying a cheerful, flower-filled atmosphere.
Alumni & Supporter, Matt Marovec, was instrumental this year in providing guidance to the Greenhouse Management students throughout the entire process. Senior FFA Member and Greenhouse Management student, Andrew Pingenot said, "It was awesome to hear the feedback from our 'regulars' with how many plants we were able to offer this year. It reassured us that all our hard work this semester made a difference."

While our sale was a success, we still have a variety left! Proceeds from this annual fundraiser aid in providing hands-on classroom learning experiences to agriculture students throughout the year.
