We are proud to share that Dr. Brian Meeker will continue his role as a physician and leader at Vinton Family Medical Clinic for another three years! Since arriving in Vinton in 1992, Dr. Meeker has been a cornerstone of healthcare in Benton County, providing compassionate, comprehensive care to generations of families and playing a central role in the development of primary care services in the region.

Dr. Meeker was instrumental in the founding of Vinton Family Medical Clinic in 1996, following a successful partnership between the Anthony Clinic and Virginia Gay Hospital. His dedication to expanding access to high-quality, cost-effective healthcare has helped shape the mission and impact of the clinic to this day.

With over 5,000 colonoscopy and endoscopy procedures completed, his commitment to preventive care-especially in reducing colon cancer risk-has had a lasting, measurable impact on our community's health. Dr. Meeker serves as Medical Director of the VGH and Clinics. He is committed to our community and works to strengthen the safety net our community depends upon. He has been honored for his mentorship to the next generation of healthcare professionals as a Clinical Assistant Adjunct Professor of Family Medicine at the University of Iowa, Des Moines University, and the University of North Dakota.

In 2022, he was elected President of the Iowa Osteopathic Medical Association, further reflecting his leadership and the respect he holds among his peers. Dr. Meeker is also a Fellow of the American Board of Family Medicine and a dedicated member of numerous professional medical organizations.

We are deeply thankful for Dr. Meeker's enduring service, leadership, and unwavering commitment to our patients, our team, and the well-being of our community. His continued presence is a true asset to Vinton and the surrounding area.
