On Wednesday, April 30, Vinton-Shellsburg FFA members participated in the 2025 Iowa Youth Institute at Iowa State University. Over 300 students from across Iowa presented research on global food security to experts in agriculture and science.

Sophomore Kirsten Pettit and 8th grader Madeline Pingenot submitted papers focused on food-related challenges in developing countries and shared their proposed solutions during the event. The experience helped them grow as leaders while exploring real-world agricultural issues. Madeline reflected on the event, saying, "I had a lot of fun and definitely look forward to going next year!"

The Vinton-Shellsburg FFA Chapter is proud of its members for representing the chapter at this impactful statewide event.
