The Vinton Police Department has a special Thanksgiving message for all our residents: Be thankful for your seatbelt!

While we gather to celebrate all we ¢â‚¬â„¢re grateful for, let ¢â‚¬â„¢s not overlook one of the simplest ways to protect ourselves and our loved ones. Last Thanksgiving weekend, 326 people tragically lost their lives in traffic crashes, and shockingly, 43% of them weren ¢â‚¬â„¢t wearing a seatbelt.

We don ¢â‚¬â„¢t want anyone in Vinton to be part of that statistic. Buckling up is one of the easiest and most effective ways to stay safe on the road. Whether you ¢â‚¬â„¢re making the short drive across town to Grandma ¢â‚¬â„¢s house or traveling several hours to see family, take two seconds to click it.
