Today's email will be limited to anything Veteran-related, and any obituaries that come in.

---

Each year, on this special day, we pause to honor the brave men and women who have served our country. Today, we remember the sacrifices you made for us, the unwavering commitment you gave, and the resilience you continue to show.

Many of us will never fully understand the depth of your battles-both on the field and upon returning home. The hardships you've endured often go unseen, whether the wounds are visible or held silently within. And we recognize that your families, too, have shouldered this journey, providing strength and love, helping you carry memories and challenges that only those who serve truly know.

It's hard to put into words, but it needs to be said: our country would not be what it is today without your dedication. You've given us the gift of safety, the privilege of freedom, and the inspiration of your courage. You deserve more than a single day of thanks. Every moment we live free and safe is because of you.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for everything. We honor you today and every day.

With gratitude, all of us.

I am SURE this is not a complete listing of all of the Veterans that have served or are serving from Benton County. PLEASE feel free to leave a note in the comments or drop us a note in the email at VintonToday@hotmail.com to add your special veteran and we will include them as quickly as possible!

The State of Iowa also has an "Honor a Veteran" program online which you can view HERE. You can enter the name of a veteran and leave a message.

Here is a link to the newly created album (read Facebook loved the last one so much it ate it :) ) Our Benton County Veterans
