Vinton-Shellsburg give a new meaning to "painting the town" by giving Mt. Auburn's Water Utilities building a new look!

Vinton-Shellsburg art students arrived in Mt. Auburn. Armed with a plan, paint brushes and paint the students came to paint a mural on the water utilities building.

Lindsay Otto was approached by Cody Lundry, a member of the Mt. Auburn City Council, to create a mural on the water utilities building. Ms. Otto opened the opportunity up to anyone in the school to participate. Last spring, the group began meeting and prepared a plan for the project.

"Our mural was designed by six of our group members and we started the painting process last week," she said. "We anticipate it will take a few more weeks to finish. She also wished to extend a "special thanks to Theisen’s for donating a portion of the paint and to the town Mt. Auburn for entrusting us with this project."

Students who helped with the project include: Aimee Happel, Mary Clair, Grace Markland, Kassidi Brunssen, Maliah Parker, Ava Bearbower, Madelyn Wall, Blaze Souqet, Zada Mohr, Oliver Whalen, Maggie Stancel and Ayden Butler.
