HACAP Food Reservoir and  Bloomsbury Farm  will be holding a ribbon cutting ceremony May 10th  at 1:30 PM at Bloomsbury Farm to reveal the design for Bloomsbury's annual corn maze, which will feature local food bank,  HACAP Food Reservoir, in an effort to raise more awareness surrounding food insecurity in our community.

This event will also serve as the kick-off to HACAP Food Reservoir's summer food and fund drive called, Eastern Iowa Freedom from Hunger presented by  Frontier Co-op.

Ribbon cutting for the event will be facilitated by the  Cedar Rapids Metro Economic Alliance, and additional attendees will include news media outlets, elected officials, key Agriculture officials, and several community leaders.

Additionally,  Green State Credit Union,  Crystal Group, and  Cedar Rapids Bank & Trust  will serve as event sponsors, along with providing 250 tickets that have gone to families utilizing HACAP's services to attend Bloomsbury Farm that day. Farmers and food banks share a mission to ensure reliable access to enough food for all people. This partnership aims to serve our most vulnerable, together.
