News : Accident in Shellsburg results in Injury

On 3-13-2024, at about 7:21 PM, the Benton County Sheriff's Office received a 911 call reporting vehicle accident with injury on Main St in Shellsburg IA.Deputies responded and found that a 2019 Polaris ATV being driven on Main St, had overturned and the driver and sole occupant was injured.The driver, a 48-yr old male, from Shellsburg IA, was transported by air to the U of I Hospital in Iowa City. His condition is unknown currently.The names of the involved parties will not be released at this time, pending notification of family. Assisting were Shellsburg Fire and First Responders, Hiawatha Ambulance, and Aircare.
