On Wednesday, October 18th, Vinton-Shellsburg FFA held their annual Harvest Meal at the Tama Benton Co-op and the Shellsburg Elevator. Middle school and high school members started by working together to package up meals that they were able to hand out to the farmers. They started making the meals and setting up right after school that day. In each meal, there was pork burger, chips, fruit, water, a sweet treat, and a lovely drawing and thank you letters from the students at Tilford Elementary.

The Vinton-Shellsburg FFA members had a goal to give as many meals out as possible and to show appreciation to the local farmers in our area with the support of sponsors. The FFA Harvest Meal would not have been made possible without our amazing sponsorships such as Iowa Corn Growers, Farmers Savings Bank, Pioneer Seeds, McKenna Lawn and Landscape, Schminke Equipment, The Iowa Pork Producers, The McKenna Family, and The McClintock Family.

The FFA chapter served and delivered over 250 meals between the Shellsburg Elevator, Tama Benton Co-op, and the high school members that were delivering meals to fields. The chapter is so happy for the turn out and the feedback that we got from our farmers! Thank you to everyone who helped with the Vinton-Shellsburg FFA's harvest meal. We appreciate all of your love and care towards our local hard working farmers!
