When Vinton was fortunate enough to add an art studio to its main street, most of us didn't know what a blessing it would be to the community. While art is something that only a few dabble in Dandeena Schadle has made Pourville Art Studio and Gallery something for everyone. She offers local artists the ability to share their creations with the public in a setting that is fun to explore. Pourville has expanded to offer painting classes to anyone wanting to create with guidance or learn to create on their own. This year the shop also offered an art camp for children to participate in over the summer. As part of the camp, the classes participated in painting a mural on the back of the shop in the alley. The mural is interactive with a watering can as part of the picture, you can pose so that it looks like you are watering the flowers. Schadle prepped the wall and had it ready for the kids. Assisting with the mural were Anita Gordon, Cadee Redlinger, and Grace Markland. The back of the building isn't finished as Schadle is making plans for the door to be painted with another design. Stop down to check out the ever-changing offerings of local artists at the shop. There is such a variety that there is sure to be something for everyone! (You might want to start that Christmas shopping now!)Schadle is celebrating her first year in her new location at 104 West 4th St. in Vinton. Be sure to check out the mural, but beware of sidewalks at each end of the alley when entering and exiting!
