"Where Everybody Knows Your Name" was the theme of this year's Party in the Park. The theme coincided with the 30th anniversary of the Cheers TV show that used that song as its theme song.
The community picnic held at Farmers Savings Bank & Trust kicked off all of the fun on Thursday night. The kiddie parade followed and went from the banks to the courthouse lawn. There were all kinds of activities packing the courthouse lawn for the kids. There were bouncy slides and various activities for kids to enjoy as well as live music by Tyler Sean Entertainment.
Friday was packed with more fun held at the park, with several food trucks available, games again for the kids, and concerts for the adults to enjoy. A parade featuring area businesses and organizations was also held in the evening.
Friday and Saturday nights were capped off with a fireworks display.
As usual, Matt Boggess, director of Vinton Parks & Recreation and all of the staff there organized and pulled off another successful year. Another great year with memories for kids and parents to remember throughout the year.
Thank you to all of the food truck providers, the game organizers, those who participated in the Farmers Market and all of the parade entries, oh the kids said to say thank you especially for the candy! Another great example of why living "Where Everybody Knows Your Name" is a great place to live, here's to Vinton!
