Celebrating VGH Employee Years of Service! Hospital Week is a great time to honor our amazing, compassionate and dedicated staff. In addition, VGH is also celebrating 100 Years in the community.

Michele shared a note of appreciation:

"Today's date holds some special significance for me. We will celebrate 35 employees receiving awards for varying years of service to Virginia Gay Hospital.  We are closing in on the end of a terrific week of activities and celebration.  Everything was just about perfect for the picnic last night and it was great to be together!

I would also like to celebrate another event on this date- the end of the Public Health Emergency for COVID-19.  Never in my wildest dreams or 43 years in healthcare could I fathom the total domination a virus would have on our world.  Work, family, health, vaccinations, masks, screenings, isolation, and quarantine.  This has been one of the most difficult times and I am grateful for the employees that have supported VGH and given of themselves so we could provide care to our patients and communities.  We still have some challenges to overcome and eventually things will get better.  Don't give up hope. Never forget the impact you make every day.
