In a lawsuit filed against the Vinton Family Restaurant, an area resident charged that the restaurant served him a bowl of chicken dumpling soup that contained wire fragments. Charlie Fraizer found himself in the emergency room in pain over the course of several days after eating at the restaurant.

The incident occurred on April 27, 2022 when he went out for a late lunch. Soup was included with the meal and served to two different adults at the table. Fortunately, the child at the table didn't have any.

While eating, a large piece of wire was pulled from the remaining soup in the bowl. Upon discovery, it was brought to the attention of the wait staff.  Unbeknownst to Fraizer, he had ingested smaller pieces of the wire which caused pain to the Vinton man later that night sending him to the ER. With visits to the hospital, it was determined that he had swallowed several pieces of the wire.

It is unknown from where the wire originated.

Fraizer contacted an attorney out of Loney & Schueller in Des Moines to represent him. Rather than take the case to court, the restaurant chose to settle out of court. The agreement was reached at the end of March this year and his settlement has been received.

Fraizer has since recovered from the injuries caused by the wire fragments.
