Hi! It's back! Athena's Pink Stiletto Soiree! The Soiree will be happening again this year on Wednesday, March 29th, 6:30 - 8:30, at the Belle Plaine Museum. This is Athena's major annual fund raiser where all the proceeds go to support, alternating every two years, either Virginia Gay Hospital in Vinton or Memorial Compass Hospital in Marengo. The hospitals use this money for women's health programs to help pay for breast and pelvic screening.
It's a fun night out for ladies, with food, wine tasting, and topics covering health and wellness.
Our Keynote speaker will be Dr. Susan Douglas, a Belle Plaine 1980 grad and daughter of long-time family physician, Dr. Clarence Douglas. She will be joining us remotely.
Please get your tickets at one of the pharmacies in town or contact an Athena member. Bring a friend and help Virginia Gay Hospital celebrate its 100th year.
Belle Plaine Athena Club is a philanthropic ladies group that began in 1897, that supports many local charities, individuals, and organizations. We also host a Painting Party FUNraiser during the year to raise those funds to help groups like: Elementary Art Department and Art Club, Elementary and HS music boosters, BPHS/JH Student food bank, BP School lunch program, Benton County food pantry, BP Ambulance, Local Tree of Sharing, BPHS Scholarship, Thanksgiving, Christmas & Summer food baskets, BP Library Foundation, BP Pride's Post Prom, and local families and groups in need.
We meet once a month Sept-May. If you are interested in joining us, contact us for more information! We have room for a few good-hearted, hardworking ladies with a passion for helping their community.
