Santa Claus stopped in to visit with area children at Pizza Ranch during the Tuesday Kiwanis meeting. Apparently, he was in the neighborhood when he heard children singing, "Jingle Bells," and that's Santa's favorite song, so he stopped by and had presents for all of the children.
Once a year the Vinton Kiwanis club provides lunch to several area children and teachers as part of their Christmas Party. Teachers recommend students they think should meet with Santa. The teachers then send the children's wish list to the North Pole where the elves begin the search for the perfect gift. With the perfect gifts in tow, the elves then wrap the gifts for Santa to drop off at the party.
The children were of course thrilled to see Santa and enjoyed chatting with him throughout the party. He had several hugs, high fives and excited children showing him their presents.
A special thanks to Joe Wehage for directing Santa to the party!
Kudos to the Kiwanis for making this event possible!
