News : Vinton Fire Department takes kids on the ride of their lives

Of course, a ride on the fire truck is a big deal when you haven't even reached the ripe old age of 10. That's a huge deal!

The Vinton Fire Department, as well as the Pink Heals fire truck, and the Mt. Auburn Fire Department made three loops through Vinton. With 11 loads of children from Tilford Elementary, the chilly day found students happily riding on the trucks. (I apologize if I missed other departments, I forgot to read the sides! Feel free to comment below and I'll happily add your department in!)

Yes there are a ton of them, but it's hard to get all the kids in the frame in a one-shot opportunity. If you see a photo you want, go ahead and snitch it from the album. Vinton Today doesn't charge!

DON'T forget to stop at the Vinton Fire Department on Sunday, October 16, 2022 between 7:00 a.m. and noon.

There will be a breakfast of pancakes, scrambled eggs, sausage, ham, biscuits n' gravy after celebrating Fire Prevention Week 2022!

Tickets are $8/person available at the door; preschool and under are free.

Proceeds will be added to the department's savings for several upcoming big projects....but those are surprises for now.
