A fundraiser has been set up to help pay legal fees of the dog owners who intend to fight to keep their pets. If you would like to donate, the dog owners would appreciate it.

Residents who own Pitbulls in the city of Keystone, were served with a Notice of Infraction and ordered to remove their dogs within 3 days, on the Friday afternoon of Labor Day weekend. The City of Keystone cites Chapter 56.
Sheriff, Ron Tippett explained that because of the weekend and the holiday on Monday, the residents will have until the 9th to contact City Hall. The department served the notice on Friday giving the residents "extra time," he said to make plans for the dogs. Tippett said that the residents were told of the 9th deadline verbally when the notices were served.

As of Friday afternoon, the City of Keystone's website is still down, the ordinance cannot be seen and there was no response from City Hall at the time of this publication.
In addition to giving residents 3 days to remove the dogs, the notice states that the families have a chance to contact City Hall to put in a request to meet with the City Council. This notice says that this must be done within 2 days of the receipt of the notification.
The notice also informs the owner that if they do not remove the dogs within 3 days, the city will remove them and assess the cost to the owners.
The final paragraph said that if the owner does not remove the "dangerous or vicious animal, it is a violation of Chapter 56 and may incur liability or fines pursuant to Keystone Code Chapter 3 not to exceed $750 for a first offense and not to exceed $1,000 for a repeat offense and may be charged with a misdemeanor. In addition, the City of Keystone may file a petition in District Court for an injunction and may assess the costs of removing the dangerous animal against you."
