The Vinton VFW Post 8884 hosted the 2nd Annual VFW Bass Tournament at Harper's Ferry on Sunday, 7 August 2022. Blast-Off was at 6 am in the rain with 10 boats participating. Weigh-in was at 2 pm by Gary Smart and Hunter Blaylock of the Cedar Rapids Bass Masters Club.

Dan Bliss won the Big Fish award with his 4.44 lb. bass. Cameron Ingle and Dawson Davidson took 1st Place with 16.24 lbs. Dan Bliss and Dean Guedes took 2nd Place with 15.81 lbs. The VFW Department of Iowa was represented by Senior Vice Commander Denny Snow.

The VFW Post 8884 Auxiliary served sloppy joe sandwiches, baked beans, chips, drinks, and desserts. VFW Post 8884 is planning the 3rd annual tournament for the first weekend in August 2023 out of Lansing, IA.
