On Friday, June 10, 2022-2023 Vinton-Shellsburg FFA Chapter Officers, Paul Herger, Kail Evans, Alana Fleming, Grace Shminke, Andrew, Pingenot, and Austin Noe attended the annual COLT (Chapter Officer Leadership Training) Conference held at Hawkeye Community College. While they were there they bumped into a few recognizable Northeast District Officers: Annabelle Newton and Josh Wiley, who were leading different sessions at the conference.

The Northeast District Officers were accompanied by previous district and state officers to teach about the new things they needed to learn as chapter officers. All the local officers were split up into several different groups and were led around to four different workshops and listened to guest speakers.

The four groups included Collaboration Nation, In The Know, Be A Pro, and Live To Serve. Once they had wrapped up the different sessions, the students divided up into new groups based on their elected office. They were taught about their new offices and things that will help them going into the new FFA year.

After the COLT Conference was over the group went to Carlos O'Kellys for lunch and reflected on their day. Officer at Large, Austin Noe said "I thought COLT was a very fun experience for us to prepare as officers, as the new FFA year begins".
