Corral your credit card, capture your crochet hooks, and k-nab your k-nitting needles-Friends of the Center Point Library needs winter hats, mittens, and scarves for the Library Giving Tree.
'Winter warmers,' purchased new or newly handmade by you, may be put on the tree in November and December to be donated to those who need them, baby to grandparent size. Friends of the Library is a group of friendly community volunteers who raise money for Andersen Center Point Llibrary equipment, projects and programming and plan and fund events at the Library.
This fall Friends has hosted a free Red Cedar Chamber Music concert and a school board candidate forum and co-hosted with the Historical Society a program on Prohibition in Iowa by author Linda Betsinger McCann.
Friends meets at 6 p.m. the third Wednesday of the month at the Library. As is common with volunteer
groups these days, Friends is embarrassingly welcoming to guests and potential new members!
