Residents of the Vinton Lutheran Home Communities might not be able to get out into the community as often as they'd like to, but that doesn't mean that we're not on their hearts. As part of Assisted Living week, the theme was, "Compassion, Community, Caring" at the Lutheran Home.

The residents created over 80 pocket crosses out of polymer clay to be given to area EMT, Fire, Police and the Sheriff's Department. Available to receive the crosses were Charlie Garwood of the Vinton Fire Department, Ron Tippett from the Benton County Sheriff's Department and Anna Demuth of North Benton Ambulance. Not available at the time of the presentation was Ted Paxton for the Vinton Police Department.

"The residents wanted the recipients to know that we pray for them and thank them for their service," said Jackie Bear.
