News : Bring the Noise 5K kicked off Saturday's Boomtown Event

Bring the Noise 5K Vinton Kiwanis Overall winner Peyton Halverson, #1 men, Katelyn Mehihaus #1 women

The Kiwanis 5K race, Bring the Noise, brought runners to kick off the Boomtown festivities

Bring the Noise 5K is an annual event that is one of several events put together by the Vinton Kiwanis Club. Each year the event raises money to support the Vinton-Shellsburg Community School Backpack Program which assists area families throughout the school year.

Bringing more than 40 runners to the east side of the courthouse, the race took off at 9:00 a.m. The runners followed the path along the river and up the hill along the pool and onto some of the residential streets then looped back the same route to check in. Each year the race is sponsored by area businesses
