In response to last Summer's derecho, the Vinton Lions Club is partnering with Trees Forever and Frazier Nursery to support the replacement of trees in the Vinton-Shellsburg School District area. The Vinton Lions Club with the support of a $5000 grant from Trees Forever will provide (at no cost to the public), 48 well-established trees (approximately 10 ft. tall /1 in. truck diameter). Variety of trees range from Oaks (Scarlet, White, red), Maple (Sienna, Red Sunset, Green Mountain), Honey Locust, Hackberry, Elm, Crabapple, Beech and Birch (Whitespire, Royal Frost).

Trees are limited and will be allocated via a lottery. To request a tree, please submit a completed application (see attached form) by May 27, 2021.

Vinton Lions Club also invites the community to help us celebrate our 100 Years of Service on July 6, 2021, from 5-8 PM at Celebration Park. The Vinton Lion's concessions trailer will have their first Tenderloin Tuesday with half-priced menu items and FREE SNO-CONES and CAKE. The Vinton Community Band will provide entertainment. Children's activities are being planned which include Tom Pingenot's amazing "Bubbler" skills!
