Keith Ervin was celebrated for his 60th year of serving with the Vinton Noon Kiwanis Club in Vinton. Tuesday's meeting began with a plaque presentation to Ervin who has been a staple in the Vinton community his whole life. His father started the Ervin Motor Company in the 1930s which opened in what is now Tharp Design's building and then moved to the west side of what is now Pizza Ranch before moving out to what used to be the former Cromer's store in 2000.

The Ervin name has been known in the community for their service. As Keith was honored it was noted how that in the 60 years as part of the Kiwanis Club, Keith has been a volunteer that has given so much to the community and never misses a meeting. Keith said, "It went by so fast!" When asked what his favorite memories were of his time with the Kiwanis, he replied, "The pancake breakfasts!"

Ervin has served twice as the Kiwanis president.

His years of service came to light in the Nebraska-Iowa Kiwanis Newsletter and was celebrated by the Vinton club on Tuesday.

Congratulations Keith!
