The annual Q and U Wedding was held Friday at Tilford Elementary. The celebration of the joining of Q & U is always met with excitement from the first graders. This year the two were married in a small private ceremony.

Every year parents are invited to attend, but this year they were missing. In addition to veils and flowers, masks were the must-have accessory as the children marked the day which landed in the middle of the COVID pandemic.

With 16 first graders in attendance the Honorable Mrs. Shipley presided over the ceremony. Little girls dressed in their prettiest outfits and little boys in Viking jerseys arrive for the event.

Using as many words which begin with a q and u, the ceremony proceeds. It's official, Q and U will now and forevermore, be joined together in the English language.

Following the ceremony, the children celebrate with cake to celebrate the day!
