Vinton is such a unique town in its capabilities. For example, the state closes the school just in time for graduation, so area parents begin to brainstorm to come up with ideas to make memories for the graduating class.
Teaming up with two area businesses, Eleanor Kathryn Photography and Tharp Design, the graduates will have several acknowledgments around the town of their special day.
Eleanor Kathryn Photography began designing banners for graduates from the sports photos they had taken. Tharp Design used its expertise to print the banners.
Area businesses or course stepped up, even though they too had been shut down. Tammy Karr said that within 48 hours all of the banners had been sponsored.
It was then discovered that some of the graduates didn't have their photos taken, so Kim Smith, of Lily B Photography began contacting those grads and donated her time and talent to take their pictures for them.
People are beginning to notice and to take photos of the banners hanging in the windows. Karr said she hopes that this will become a new tradition honoring the graduates each year.
Banners will remain in the store windows through June and at the end of the month, students will be able to pick up the banners to keep.
Once again, Vinton steps up, turns a weird time in history into a memorable time using the talents and the gifts that they have. Great job photographers on the pictures and to Tharp Design, impressive!
The following businesses and individuals sponsored the banners, thank you, everyone, for stepping up for the Graduates, Vinton really is the best!
